Leander Baikie hosts "The Strever Express"
The Strever Express Entertainment Specials grew out of the need for Labrador Artists and Musicians to gain more exposure within the province and within the country. Since 1986, North West River, Labrador has put together, thru the help of many dedicated volunteers, The North West River Beach Festival. This annual event prides itself on showcasing many Labrador Musicians. Over the years the Beach Festival has grown to become Labrador's Largest Outdoor Music Festival. Many of the performers are from North West River which gave TVCR easy access to local talent to drop by our studio. With funding provided by The Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council and the 1997 Year of the Arts Program (Cabot 500) we taped a series of seven, one half hour shows. Since funding is a rarity in this neck of the woods, we decided to give credit to TVCR VOLUNTEER LOW BUDGET PRODUCTIONS.
